hello!
my name is JR Heard, and i am a web developer.
i'm a senior studying computer science at stanford university. i like programming, music, and clouds. i work for yelp part-time, and will start as a full-time employee in august. i live in a vegetarian co-op, for some reason.
i am working with jhurwich and dmacdougall on a project called MooDJ, which will change the way you listen to music. for the better. i promise. it'll make things easier. anyway, more to come on that in a few weeks.
i maintain these projects regularly:
-
hi mom, i made you a mixtape -
a place where, every month from july '09 until forever, i put up a new mixtape full of wonderful music for my mom (and anyone else who cares to visit) to enjoy.
-
non-mom music -
himom's twin sister. once or twice a week, i post a song that i like very much and that my mom probably won't.
-
a page of tumbling madness -
the closest thing i have to a blog, in which i exercise my love of talking about programming, and other things too.
and here is a list of projects that i have completed recently:
-
accelerometer prototype -
a little demo of firefox 3.6's acceleremoter-sensing capabilities. if you've got a reasonably recent macbook and are running firefox 3.6, check out the demo (wiggle your laptop around).
-
yelp's palm pre application -
developed and released in roughly three weeks. special thanks to eric m. singley and pretz. coverage by palm, download.cnet.com, and others.
-
anchor intelligence -
the website for anchor intelligence, an extremely smart company making waves in the anti-clickfraud industry. the site was designed by jackie ngo, and developed by yours truly.
-
the trotter -
a little python script which'll grab daytrotter sessions and other tasty music for you so you don't have to. run it once a month and you won't need to click on 30 tabs times 4 download links per tab. such a timesaver.
if you'd like to keep in touch, you can find me on twitter, tumblr, last.fm, facebook, del.icio.us, yelp, or github, among other Inter-places. as long as you're here, you'd also be more than welcome to check out my resume in LinkedIn form, but i'm not currently taking on any new projects and/or jobs.
thanks again for dropping by!
